My name is Timothy! I teach yoga internationally, private classes, online yoga, as well as in studios in the Charleston, S.C. area.
I have been an athlete my whole life, playing every sport, but my two main sports became golf and long distance running. I started practicing yoga in 2016 to build strength and help with recovery for my stiff body. The practice of yoga engages the body but I was surprised with how it touched my mind as well. Yoga was unlike any physical exercise I had done before. I immediately felt the physical effects of my yoga practice but was intrigued by the mental benefits as well, including helping with symptom relief of my own depression and anxiety.
I completed an intensive residential yoga program with Yoga Academy International where I became a certified instructor. Beyond physical, postural alignment, I also learned how to structure classes specifically to the needs of my athletic and beginner clients. Further, I had the opportunity to dive into my own meditation and mindfulness practices as well, adding simple elements like joy and gratitude into my daily routine.
My goal in teaching yoga is to inspire my clients through breath and movement and help them feel better than ever before, both on and off the mat, in the same way that yoga has helped me.
